How To Create Your USI
Getting a USI is free, simple, and fast. Follow the steps below:
Gather your identification
You’ll need at least one primary ID document, and ideally a backup. Acceptable ID examples include:
Prepare Your Contact Details
Have your email address, phone number, and residential address ready.
Visit the USI Website
Go to usi.gov.au and click “Create a USI”.
Follow the on-screen prompts
Agree to the Terms & Conditions, enter your ID and contact details, and complete the verification steps.
Save and secure your USI
Once created, you’ll see your USI on screen. It will also be sent to you via SMS or email. Keep it somewhere safe, you’ll need it for future training.
