Recertification of Your Skills

This nationally focused course is designed to equip participants with the critical knowledge and practical skills required to undertake the roles of Track Examiner and Track Certifier within the rail industry.

Participants will learn how to competently examine track and right of way infrastructure‚ including the preparation, inspection, analysis, and reporting of examination results. This includes identifying defects, assessing infrastructure condition, and contributing to the overall safety and reliability of rail operations.

In the Track Certifier component, learners will gain the ability to identify and assess both the scope and quality of track construction work, ensuring compliance with relevant construction specifications and maintenance standards. The course covers the application of Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) processes, including the correct identification of hold points and witness points, and how to define and communicate appropriate train operating restrictions for any outstanding work until remedial actions are completed.

This course is recognised by ARTC (Australian Rail Track Corporation) and, upon successful completion, participants will be issued with the ARTC Track Examiner & Certifier (Currency) certification, enabling them to perform these roles in accordance with national and ARTC-specific standards.
