The QR 3.2 Safely Access the Rail Corridor course is designed to equip workers with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely access and work within the rail corridor. This induction is essential for anyone requiring access to rail environments, ensuring compliance with Queensland Rail safety protocols and reducing the risk of accidents and incidents.

You’ll learn how to identify and manage hazards, navigate the danger zone, communicate effectively, and respond to emergency situations in accordance with industry regulations and site-specific rules.

Safely Access the Rail Corridor

There are no formal entry requirements, however in alignment with industry consultation and the job role expectations, the following is needed for course admission:

  • A valid Category 3 or 1 Rail Medical assessment
  • CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry

Completing the TLIF0020 Safely access the rail corridor course can support further development and career progression within the rail industry.

  • Pathway to Track Work and Infrastructure Roles, Protection and Worksite Safety Role or Train Operations Support.
  • Pathway to Qualifications including but not limited to TLI27121 Certificate II in Rail Infrastructure

This course is delivered through one day of classroom-based learning and includes knowledge assessments and practical observations in a simulated environment to evaluate both theoretical understanding and hands-on competence.

  • Knowledge assessments: Written tests to evaluate participants' understanding of the course material.
  • Practical observation assessments: Hands-on activities where participants demonstrate their skills in a controlled environment.
