This course focuses on developing the competencies required to manage and coordinate safe rail worksite activities, making it a vital progression step for those aiming to take on leadership or compliance-focused responsibilities in rail operations.

  • CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry
  • TLIC0016 Identify and respond to signals and trackside signs
  • TLIC0084 Access rail track to travel track vehicle under manual block working conditions
  • TLIF0020 Safely Access the Rail Corridor
  • TLIF0027 Perform lookout duties
  • TLIF2082 Perform handsignaller duties
  • TLIF2097 Use audible track warning devices
  • TLIF3058 Apply safeworking rules and regulations to rail functions
  • TLIC0025 Pilot rail traffic within work on track authority limits
  • TLIW0007 Operate under track protection rules
  • TLIW2037 Clip and secure points
  • TLIW3026 Operate stand alone signalling/point control equipment
  • ARTC NSW Handsignaller Level 1
  • ARTC NSW Handsignaller Level 2
  • ARTC NSW Safeworking Level 1

Completing the ARTC NSW Safeworking Level 2 course can support further development and career progression within the rail industry.

  • Pathway to TLI40921 Certificate IV in Rail Network Control
  • Opportunity to progress to ARTC NSW Track Vehicle Operator

This course is delivered through two days of classroom-based learning and includes knowledge assessments, an in-field logbook, and practical observations to evaluate both theoretical understanding and hands-on competence.

  • Knowledge assessments: Written tests to evaluate participants' understanding of the course material.
  • In-field logbook: Participants complete tasks under the supervision of a qualified mentor, documenting their experiences and competencies in a logbook.
  • Practical observation assessments: Hands-on activities where participants demonstrate their skills in a controlled environment.
