Be the First Line of Rail Safety

The ARTC CoP Track Worker Level 2 course equips participants with the advanced skills, knowledge, and confidence required to work safely on or near the rail network. Aligned with the ARTC Code of Practice (CoP), the course ensures compliance with industry safety standards while focusing on the technical aspects of track work and the critical safety measures needed to protect workers, infrastructure, and the rail environment.

Participants will gain the practical skills to pilot rail traffic into, within, and out of a possession area, implement train running Information (TRI), implement a track occupancy authority (TOA) and use an infrastructure booking advice (IBA)

  • CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry
  • TLIF0020 Safely Access the Rail Corridor
  • TLIF0027 Perform lookout duties
  • TLIF2082 Perform handsignaller duties
  • TLIW0007 Operate under track protection rules
  • TLIF2097 Use audible track warning devices
  • TLIF0023 Conduct track protection assessment
  • TLIW2037 Clip and secure points
  • ARTC CoP Handsignaller
  • ARTC CoP Track Worker Level 1
  • ARTC Implement No Authority Required (NAR)

Completing the ARTC CoP Track Worker Level 2 course can support further development and career progression within the rail industry.

  • Pathway to TLI21921 Certificate II in Track Protection
  • Opportunity to progress to ARTC CoP Track Worker Level 3

This course is delivered through one day of classroom-based learning and includes knowledge assessments, an in-field logbook, and practical observations to evaluate both theoretical understanding and hands-on competence.

  • Knowledge assessments: Written tests to evaluate participants' understanding of the course material.
  • Practical observation assessments: Hands-on activities where participants demonstrate their skills in a controlled environment.
